Saturday Workshops

Mezze Al Sharqi:
  Designed to enhance your presence, tickle your technique and empower your undulations, we'll work through some of Jim's signature stylings in a variety of Middle Eastern dance and related genres. Beginning with strong foundations will be necessary, so we'll warm up with some of Jim's exciting drills and hip articulation concepts.  Moving quickly into technique overviews, we'll focus on ways to express our movement characteristics to achieve that organic feel so necessary in our dance forms.  Using these foundations, it's time to get your Shimmy On in different dialects!  We'll present a variety of texture sequences and combinations of movements for applications in Raks Sharki (Belly Dance) and related forms.

 9am - 3:30pm with lunch break- $100, or $90 with pre-registration (by April 15).

The Art of Veil Dancing-  Suitable for all levels.

This veil workshop will cover entrance, exits, balance & posture, as well as veil technique, spins & turns, & mini combinations. Learn strategies on how to tap into your own creativity. Great for the upper body & overall grace & fluidity of your dancing.
